THE FUTURE IS GETTING CLOSER

It is Grundfos’ goal that a significant part of the group’s profit is to come from products other than pumps – a selected group of students will get about a week to come up with new ideas.

- We have a stong position in the growing market of sustainable solutions and products. And it is our determined goal to develop new sustainable technologies that the world has never seen before. However, we need inspiration, and that is why we open the doors to a number of talented students, Lars Enevoldsen, Grundfos Innovation Director, says.

THE FUTURE IS GETTING CLOSER

Grundfos has a challenge
For the fourth year in succession Grundfos Challenge will be the frame. The competitors will be some of the best engineer and economics students from Denmark’s top educational institutions. The competition will take place from 21 March until 27 March 2009 at Grundfos in Bjerringbro.

- We ask the students to consider sustainability above all, together with the fact that Grundfos must be there for a growing world, and – not least – that Grundfos will be leading when it comes to new technologies. All large concepts that Grundfos will launch in the coming years must live up to these three challenges. Today they can be found in for example our A-labelled pumps, Grundfos NoNox, Grundfos BioBooster, and in Grundfos LifeLink, Lars Enevoldsen says.

Focus on partnership
Furthermore Grundfos Challenge strengthens the cooperation between the company and the academic world. It is about offering the young talents insight in Grundfos’ world. The purpose of Grundfos Challenge is also to identify new young talents, who can fill a job in the company or in another way enter into an agreement with Grundfos about for example project work or rotation employment.

The participants will stay at Grundfos’ own educational centre, The Poul Due Jensen Academy, and they have four days to solve the task that is to be presented to a judging committee on Friday 27 March. The winners will be published at a gala dinner on the same night.

Prizes
For the engineering team and the economics team that come up with the best solutions there will be a prize of 75,000 Dkr for each team. Furthermore the educational institution of each winning team will have 25,000 Dkr. Finally Grundfos will give away a special innovation prize of 15,000 Dkr.
