Talented students in Grundfos competition
For the third time in succession Grundfos arranges the competition Grundfos Challenge for some of the best engineering and economics students from Denmark's leading educational institutions. The competition runs from 30 March until 4 April 2008 and there will be prizes of 265,000 DKK in total.
The head line of Grundfos Challenge 2008:
How can Grundfos contribute to a sustainable development in the fast growing BRIC countries?
The BRIC-countries - Brazil, Russia, India and China - all have fast growing economic development, and at the same time they are some of the world's largest countries. It results in a number of opportunities, but also in environmental challenges for Grundfos that has production and sales companies in all BRIC countries. Grundfos is already taking care of these challenges, and with sustainability as the key word the company will challenge the Challenge competitors to focus on new approaches to the market that can lead to even more business opportunities.
Grundfos arranges Grundfos Challenge to strengthen the cooperation between the company and the academic world. The purpose of the competition is to give young, talented students an insight into Grundfos' world and to have their solutions to concrete problems. The objective is also to identify new, young talents who can be candidates for jobs in the company, or who can enter into an agreement with Grundfos, for example about project cooperation or rotation employment.
The competition among the leading educational institutions focuses on academic skills, the knowledge the students have obtained, and their ability to convert them to practice. Innovation, drive, team-work and the ability to think ahead will be the key words.
The participants will stay at Grundfos' own educational academy, The Poul Due Jensen Academy, and they have four days to answer the assignment that is to be presented for an evaluation committee on Friday 4 April 2008. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on the same evening.
Prizes
For both the engineering team and the economics team that present the best solutions there will be a prize of 75,000 DKK for the students and of 50,000 DKK for their educational institution. Besides these prizes Grundfos will award a special innovation prize of 15,000 DKK.
