The EuP/ErP Directive
The Energy Using Product (EuP) Directive 2005/32/EC is a European Commission energy efficiency framework. It sets the future for energy efficient products in the EU. The Directive has later been revised, No. 2009/125/EC, to also include energy related (ErP) products.
This means that in some communication you might see it referred to as the ErP Directive instead of the EuP Directive.
The Commission Regulation
Commission Regulation (EC) no 641/2009 establishes binding ecodesign requirements for glandless
- standalone circulators produced and sold in the EU after 1 January 2013
- integrated circulators produced and sold in the EU after 1 August 2015
From these dates standard circulators will NOT meet the requirements – energy efficient E-pumps will be the ONLY choice.
