Effluent
Dirty water and untreated wastewater (excluding toilet discharge) that contains fibres and solids. To avoid clogging, pumps allowing free passage of solids up to 35-45 mm are recommended.
Example of effluent job
Rainwater and other surface water must be drained away from buildings. In older installations, drain water and surface water is led away together with household wastewater.
In some countries, legislation demands separation of different types of water. This is to prevent wastewater treatment plants from being overburdened by enormous amounts of surface water after periods of heavy precipitation.
- Grundfos recommends the use of pumps with a free passage of minimum 25-35 mm for removal of surface water.
- Level switches or an external control system should be installed.
Grundfos recommends the following pumps for this application: Unilift AP35, AP35B
Maximum particle size: Unilift AP35, AP35B: 35 mm |
