The situation

The Lyuberetskii Vodokanal municipal water and heating supply corporation is currently retrofitting many of its installations with more efficient and environmentally friendly solutions. New booster systems are working wonders for residents in the area's apartment buildings - and for the company's finances.

The Grundfos solution

For example, an old pressure boosting station in Kalinino received a complete overhaul, eliminating problems with frequent interruptions in service, demands for on-call service staff, and more. By switching to a Grundfos booster system, the station now services its eight nine-storey blocks with a more compact, more energy-efficient, and far more reliable solution.

"The new Grundfos booster system lets us maintain pressure even at peak hours - and we haven't had a single pump outage. All residents are happy and we have had no complaints. We no longer need to spend money on repairs and spares, and we save on energy and water. We have also eliminated surplus pressure in the basements."

The outcome

Inspired by its successes, the company currently uses Grundfos pumps in more than 20 pressure boosting stations, and more complete retrofits are scheduled for 2006.
